Writes James D’lion
Selby travel to Ripon with a weakened side but it didn’t show. Ripon fielding half their first team came up against the stubbornness of Selby. Ripon scored first with a break away try from a loose ball. Selby hit back through Lanaghan who was having a tremendous game. When Selby lost Carl Golton to injury early on though things didn’t look well. But as is always present in Selby matches pride and passion spurred them on. Half time came and the score was 7 – 5 Selby. Another break away and a well worked moved sealed the game for Ripon. A Moore penalty being the swans only reply. Selby still should hold their heads up high with powerful and determined displays shown by them all.
