Selby 1st XV vs Old Brodleians
Selby hit the road once again tomorrow as they travel to Old Brodleians, a club with whom they share plenty of rugby history, respect, and a fair few memorable contests over the years. It’s always a great trip to Hipper Holme, and both sides will be eager to put on a show for what promises to be another competitive Yorkshire League fixture.
Selby go into the game encouraged by last weekend’s narrow defeat away at Pocklington, where a youthful side pushed one of the league’s frontrunners all the way. Despite coming up just short, the performance was full of energy, ambition, and signs of a squad that’s growing with every outing.
Head Coach Jay Robinson will again look to blend experience with youth as Selby continue to develop their exciting new group. The forwards will take confidence from another strong set-piece showing, while the backs will aim to turn pressure into points after creating plenty of chances last week.
Old Brodleians, always strong at home, will provide a stern test — but with Selby’s improving form and team spirit on the rise, it’s shaping up to be another cracking afternoon of Yorkshire rugby.
Kick-off 3pm at Old Brodleians RFC.
Best of luck to all travelling players, coaches, and supporters — let’s make some noise for Selby!
