Steve has been coaching this squad for 10 years, giving up his time on Sundays and week day training sessions assisted by Gary Callum, Mark Joyce and JP Leighton over the years.

He has watched his players grow and now the majority are taller than him! Steve’s inclusivity has welcomed all comers and the squad now boasts near 30 players from all over Selby. Under his coaching, the players have become a ‘team’, looking out for each other and forming good relationships, cemented by 6 tours and social events.

The team treated their coaches to a guard of honour after the game, and are looking forward to thanking them again at Presentation Day on 26th May.

The majority are intending to return as ‘Colts’ for the 24/25 season and this is testament to Steve’s hard work. He will not be far away, cheering from the stands as his son Benjamin will continue to be a Swan in the team he helped create.
