Over the years, the Muffits Lunch has become a much-loved Selby tradition — a festive get-together that brings supporters, friends, and players together to celebrate another great year of rugby.

The name goes back to a group of loyal and lively supporters who gathered in the stand on match days, sharing mince pies (and perhaps the odd whisky or two) to keep warm. One day, a club legend looked up and said they looked like “a bunch of Muppets” — and so, with a Selby twist, the Muffits were born.

While the faces have changed over time, the spirit remains the same — friendship, fun, and fundraising for the club. So this year, we’re inviting everyone to join us for the 2025 Muffits Lunch and keep the tradition alive.

Enjoy a lunch of rich beef casserole with mash and vegetables, followed by a mince pie, plus 1st XV match day entry vs Morley and raffle tickets, all for just £20 per person.

Let’s raise a glass to our club, our history, and the supporters who’ve kept Selby RUFC such a special place to belong.
