1. Senior Womens Coach


Selby RUFC has an exciting lead coach opportunity available for the right candidate within their womens section:

SENIOR WOMEN LEAD COACH / PLAYER COACH

We are very proud of our women and girls’ section at Selby RUFC and run sides at every age group of 12s, 14s, 16s, 18s and seniors and want to continue to grow female rugby participation at grass roots level within the local community.

Our objective is to ensure that every girl will have an enjoyable experience training and playing rugby in a safe and secure environment.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver a season long training programme – training night is at 7.00pm on a Wednesday evening at Selby RUFC. Sessions should be player centred and challenging but also fun and enjoyable.
  • With support from our RDO develop individual player development plans.
  • Lead the squad on match days – these tend to be Sunday afternoon but we can on occasions be flexible with match days and times depending on other planned activity.
  • Work with other coaches in the women and girls’ section to deliver the best rugby experience we can for our women and girls.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • ERCA (or RFU level 2 Coaching Award) – coaching support and development will be available including support in gaining RFU coaching qualifications.
  • Ideally 2-3 years coaching experience, but not essential.
  • Playing experience not essential but preferred.
  • First aid training and safeguarding awareness.
  • An understanding of the barriers to participation for girls and women.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the female rugby pathway.

The lead coach position will be remunerated with the rate based on qualifications and experience along with a kit bundle and the support of a forward thinking and well-run rugby club.
