The squad travelled to Ionians for the second time in two weeks, this time for a Cup match.

The first half was a battle of attrition with Selby defending for most of the half and were only breached in the last seconds by a try in the corner.

The second half started with a 2nd Ionians try followed by a third which was converted and the score was 17-0 with 15 minutes of the game remaining.

Selby then started to play, opening their account with a line breaking run and try from Ryan, followed quickly by a touchdown from Josh Fox who then converted to make it 17-12. The remaining 8 minutes were all Selby but the clock and a last man tackle by a 16th Ionians player denied the boys a come from behind victory.
