Match 2
Malton 5 v Selby 45
The second game started with Selby dominant up front and the first try was scored due to Olly S taking a pass after good work from the backs, and running strongly to go over the line. Malton then scored straight from the restart after their big forward received the ball and ran straight through the Selby defence to score. After Malton scored this try it became a one sided affair with Selby taking control of the game. With the pack supplying good ball to the backs, Will received a pass from Harry and passed the ball to Tom who ran in to Score.
The second half started well and Good back play again resulted in two more tries one from Tom and one from Will. Isaac got in on the act after running in a good try after receiving a pass from fly half. Selby were totally dominant now and the forwards took the ball in to a maul with Olly S and Brandon working the ball well together, Brandon rolled out of the maul and crashed over the line.
It was all Selby now and from the resulting pressure the ball went loose
to Tom who picked the ball up to run in his third try. Directly from the restart Will flattened the Malton first receiver and from the resulting loose ball Tom went over the line to score his forth try. To cap off his man of the match display Tom scored his fifth again after loose play by Malton.
Good performances by both Selby teams, let’s hope we can keep it going at the Doncaster festival!!
