Sunday 27th March was not only York Festival but also Mothers Day.

The sun was shining on us for a change and we fielded 3 teams against teams from York, Harrogate and Northern who were on tour from Newcastle.

Each Selby team had 3 games each and the competition was varied with some rather tough opponents, especially from the 4 northern squads.

The rugby played was very good and showed how we were taking what we have learnt on the train in ground into live matches. All players were getting involved and put on a good display for their families who had made the commitment to come on Mothers Day. The coaching team were really impressed with the games played and although not everything went our way, the team showed great determination to keep going.
