York 2nd XV 7 - 23 Selby 2nd XV
Selby 2nd XV continued their excellent start to the season with a hard fought victory over local rivals at York to make it 4 wins out of 4.
With both clubs generally short of players due to World Cup Rugby at Elland Road and a number travelling to Twickenham, it was Selby's strength-in-depth that provided the key to this victory.
York opened the scoring with a smartly taken finish from their full back. Selby quickly replied through a Joe Shaw penalty and then a James Hunt try to go in at half time 7 - 8.
In the second half the ever-green Leigh Adamson started pulling the strings and with a simple game plan enabled Selby's forwards to dominate. Selby endeavours were rewarded with three unanswered tries in the second half from Shaw, Hunt and finally Henry Levitt from a rolling maul.
