Selby return to Sandhill Lane today looking to bounce back from last week's 27-12 defeat in the wet at Moortown. Standing in the way is a Morley side who sit third in Regional 2 North East with four wins from five, level on 21 points with Moortown and three behind leaders Old Brodleians. The Swans are sixth on 15 points.
It has been a mixed start for Selby. An opening defeat at Wetherby was followed by three straight wins over Dinnington, Pontefract and Malton & Norton, with 46 points put past Malton at home, before the trip to Moortown. Morley edged a 48-43 thriller at Wath upon Dearne a fortnight ago and beat Pontefract 22-5 at home last weekend.
That win came at a cost. Morley are without Brad Freeman, George Bowen, Will Kinder, Jamie Silkstone and Jack Mackie. Jon Magrin is available again, Sam Godfrey returns, and Joe Leathley and Ben Taylor step up from the Cavaliers to start.
Max Wotton captains the Swans from the front row alongside David Moores and Jack Todd, who both touched down again at Moortown. Ben Cockeram keeps the 7 shirt after his debut last week, and Thomas Gabel starts after coming off the bench.
History suggests a tight one. Of the last six meetings, Selby have won three and Morley two, with one draw. That draw came here last season, 17-17, when Charlie Frankland landed a conversion from near the touchline with the last kick of the game.
It's Halloween, so Chef Andy has been stirring the cauldron. Spooktacular Yorkshires, giant Yorkshire puddings loaded with all the trimmings, are on before kick-off. When the final whistle blows, stay on for our post-match Halloween Party. Ghouls, ghosts and goblins all welcome.
A warm welcome to Morley's players, supporters and committee, and thanks to today's Match Day Sponsor, Yorkshire Rhubarb. Enjoy the game.
