In a prequel to Saturday’s league game Selby travelled to York and were shell shocked from the start, going behind to a Singleton try, converted by Downie within the first minute, as York’s young side ran the Selby squad ragged throughout the game.
Although Selby competed well and defended strongly they were always struggling to hold a rampant and inventive Quality Street outfit.
Further try scorers for York were Singleton , Thompson &, Milligan with Downie kicking another three goals.
The game finished though with the Swans hammering the home line & being rewarded with a penalty try converted by Lee Adamson.
Selby have much to do to reverse this result on Saturday.
