Sunday afternoon, Selby faced a very determined Scarborough side and an endless down pour of rain in their first group match of the Yorkshire Cup.

The handling would have been impressive on a dry spring day let alone in extremely wet cold and windy conditions.
A new look Selby starting 15 battled hard and eventually broke the defence down with a well deserved try from the coaches player of the match Dani Moore.

Selby soon found their form after a few questionable decisions, growing in confidence the team then took control of the game with fantastic individual tries from Amelie Chandler, Isla Ramsay and try of the game from Lauren Noble, who broke the defensive line with a superb angled run, before going over under the sticks, Eva Abbott converting.

Scarborough soon hit back with 2 well deserved tries before Selby took the game out of reach with further tries from Sarah Ridley, Eva Abbott, Abi Moore and topped off with full back Agi Hornostaj completing the score.

Selby's captain for the day was Abi Moore, who put in massive shift in the forward line and was relentless both in attack and defence, topped off with superb try.

Great support from parents and family members and a shout out to the girls who weren't selected who also made the journey to support their team mates.
