A large loss at home to Yarnbury 3rds with a team made up of 4ths/5ths was actually something of an achievement given the amount of unavailable players the club currently has.
Mark Houston (4th team capt) ran the team for the day as current Captain Ben Rawson was unavailable and he did a great job in fielding a side and then keeping them motivated enough to keep defending against the younger & fitter players from Yarnbury who were obviously still reeling from the drubbing they received at the hands of the 2nds/3rds the week before.
No complaints at the score line but a real gripe at players not showing up, calling off on Saturday morning and the general lack of interest shown in pulling on the Selby shirt so far this season.
On to next week when Selby travel over to Leeds to face West Leeds in a crucial early season league game.
