Skipton 3rd Team 0
Selby 3rd Team 59
Writes James D’Lion
Selby travelled the long trip to Skipton and came away easy victors against a big set of farmers. Selby arrived at the pitch to find it looking like it had just been ploughed and the conditions underfoot where terrible. But this didn’t stop Selby playing some good clinical rugby with Houston scoring a hat trick of spectacular tries. The Selby team must take pride from this result. With their smaller but more skilful forwards winning scrum and line outs against the head, which in turn led to the backs getting good clean ball to play fast exciting rugby. Selby scored a total of nine tries with touch downs coming from Hambrecht, Moore, Church, Watson and two from Harry Cameron who could have had a hat trick himself had he not told the referee he had committed a penalty just to avoid getting the traditional jug of ale for doing so. Moore converting seven.
