Sunday 27th January 2019 and away game at Yarnbury awaited the Selby U13's, which after knowing the opposition who haven't lost so far this season, the lads knew it would be a tough task in hand.

The whistle blew at 11am on a very cold blustery morning, from the kick off Selby received the ball and Joe Schofield passed the ball with precision to the awaiting Jacob Kingswood whom sprinted around the outside and down the touch line for a fantastic opener.

5 minutes later after some great tackling and rucks from both sides Selby again passed the ball down the backs line and Jack Hudson broke through some incoming players and sprinted to the try line. Selby 10-0

Yarnbury then turned on some great rugby and although Selby’s defence was solid they came back into the game with two back to back try’s of their own and just before halftime Yarnbury took the lead 15-10.

Second half got underway and this time Yarnbury were instant in attack and scored to extend there lead to 20-10, some more pressure on Selby in the next 5 minutes had everyone nervous on the sidelines, but some great tackling from Bailey Hargreaves and Luke Moseley
alike, which kept Yarnbury from scoring, now the advantage turned and some powerful forward play and great rucks saw Will Carr break through for a try, then Yarnbury struck back again 25-15 with 5 minutes left...

Selby turned up the pace and Jacob Kingswood got over for his second try and within a blink of an eye Will Carr was again sprinting away down the sideline to level the score with a brilliant solo effort and his second try of the game 25-25 , and just as Selby were going for the upset the final whistle was blown on a very exciting game. A fantastic game of rugby from both teams.
