3. Advice for Parents

Sent to all players and parents on 1st September prior to return to rugby.

So we are once again at the beginning of a new season with new challenges to face. The Club has done everything to ensure that we are complying with RFU and Government guidelines and we trust that you will take on board all these measures and ensure they are followed. Please remember, we have not set these rules, but are following the guidelines given. There would be consequences should we be seen to not follow them, so please ensure you and your child/ren are familiar with them. If you have any questions please speak to your team manager in the first instance.

Before attending any training sessions you MUST set your availability through the Pitchero App or your profile page on the website. You cannot just turn up to training and your child/ren will not be able to participate if availability has not been set. This not only complies with Track & Trace but also gives coaches time to plan sessions effectively. Search for Pitchero Club on the Apple/Google platforms and login from there.

Attached are two information documents outlining all the guidelines in full and below is some general information for requirements on attending the club site. We make no apologies for repeating these messages!!

  • All players / parents need to confirm attendance PRIOR to training on the Pitchero App so that we can comply with Track and Trace directives and coaches can plan training groups. Coaches or managers will confirm electronically who has attended sessions for our records.
  • You will be unable to train if you just turn up without letting your coach/manager know beforehand.
  • Upon arrival please park sensibly and carefully, respecting others – maintain social distancing with others at all times.
  • DO NOT congregate in the car park or outside the clubhouse, players should head straight to their training location.
  • Parents can watch training but please keep at a minimum 10m from any players or training bubbles and respect social distancing from each other.
  • All players are encouraged to bring their own individual hand sanitiser to be used at regular intervals during their session and particularly before they start and at the end. Hand sanitiser will also be available outside the clubhouse.
  • All players need to bring clearly named water bottles – no sharing! Please ensure all are taken away at the end of the session. There will not be the usual number of bins around the site at present.
  • Players should avoid travel or car sharing with other parents to attend training.
  • Changing rooms are not available at the moment.
  • Limited toilet access is available at the clubhouse – please follow signs.
  • Please respect social distancing at all times especially in busy areas such as outside the clubhouse and the car park.

Due to restrictions we will not be opening the Club shop, but we will be launching an online shop very soon. We have limited stock due to ordering restrictions with Kukri over lockdown, but an order has now been placed and we await its arrival. There is no requirement for club kit to be worn at training if you are unable to get hold of what you need.

Finally, Subs are now due and the payment portals (www.selbyrufc.club/payments) are open. Please set up a payment plan within the first two weeks of your return to rugby. If anyone has any concerns about payments do speak to either your team manager or John Tehan, Youth Chair.

We look forward to welcoming you back to Selby in these testing times but we are confident that working together and following the guidelines given, we will be able to deliver an engaging rugby programme.
