Selby U15s v Driffield U15s Sunday 31st March

Defeated by a last minute try.
On Mothering Sunday, Selby U15s boys welcomed Driffield RUFC to Sandhill Lane in a re-arranged early morning KO fixture.
Both teams were similar in strength and had suffered numerous injuries during the season reducing their respective teams to minimum numbers.
In two halves of 30 minutes each, both teams scored, counter-scored, tackled, rucked and drove forward as each side matched like for like. At half time, Driffield were slightly in the lead at 15-17.
In the second half, Selby took the lead at 25-22 with only 2 minutes left in the game. However Driffield were not done yet and took the opportunity to pass the final ball out to their fast-paced runner on the wing who took it over the line scoring the final try of the game and taking the win for Driffiled at 25-27.
Congratulations to both teams on their good display of rugby skills and an enjoyable match.

This match concludes the U15s fixtures which saw 50:50 wins and missed opportunities over the season against a high rate of injuries.
The young swans’ last game is a friendly against Kirby Lonsdale during their April tour.
