On Thursday 21st March, Selby RUFC U11s raised awareness and supported World Down Syndrome Day by training in odd socks as part of the #LotsOfSocks campaign. World Down Syndrome Day is celebrated annually every 21 March.
For WDSD, people are encouraged to wear odd socks. This sparks conversation and questions so that we can raise awareness of Downs Syndrome. The u11s team, including coaches, turned up in odd socks.
"It was so amazing and touching and fantastic to see the kids take part, I had to share this because I'm so proud of the u11s. They are an absolutely credit to the club" reported Kirsten Sheppard, mum and team support.
This year, the event theme was "Leave No-one Behind", an ethos that Selby RUFC's U11s live by.
