Selby RUFC Board of Directors have decided not to extend the Senior Head Coaching Contract with Mike McHugh-Hicks beyond April 2018, therefore Mike has now stepped down to allow the club to review plans and preparation for next season. Over the last 2 seasons, Mike has done a great job in bringing together what is nearly a completely new squad with little experience at this level. Mike has managed to blend together this group of young men and improve them and give the club a foundation on which to build for the next few years. We wish him well.

Within this transition period Paul Dooley has also decided to move on to pastures new and has taken up a new head coach role within Rugby League. We would also like to thank Paul for his time and efforts and wish him well in his new venture.

In the interim period Steve Cruise will be heading up a coaching team of Richard Nicholson, Jason Cicero, Jacob Robinson and Duncan Hardy until the end of the season.
This will be backed up with some specialist positional coaching from some of our home grown positional experts along with a few surprise guest appearances.

I would like to wish Steve and the team all the best for the rest of the season.

The club will be reviewing the coaching requirements for 2018/19 and beyond to create a sustainable plan going forward along similar principles to the highly successful Youth Section.
