Jacob Robinson re-joins the club as Senior Head Coach Announced today by Steve Cruise, Director of Rugby Selby RUFC

Selby RUFC are delighted to announce that junior section product, Jacob Robinson, will be re-joining the club as Senior Head Coach for the 2019/2020 season.

Jacob played for Selby through his junior rugby career. He has represented Yorkshire at every age grade from Under 15 to Under 20’s making over 20 appearances, he also represented the North of England at under 18 level and was part of the Leeds Carnegie Academy for a number of years.

He made his first team debut for Selby at the age of 17 in the 2011/12 season making 65 appearances before moving onto Doncaster Phoenix where he enjoyed huge success with back to back promotions.

Jacob is a PE teacher at Hill House School and is an RFU level 2 coach who is actively moving to his level 3. He currently coaches Yorkshire U17’s as well as working for the ERDP scheme. Jacob is a highly thought of young coach who has been working with our squad once a week over the last couple of years but has now decided to continue his coaching development with his first senior coaching appointment.

Jacob will be responsible for heading up the coaching team and we hope to make further announcements in the near future about his coaching and backroom team.

He is, hugely excited at being able to continue and grow upon the improvements made over the last 18 months and develop a team and winning style of play that is synonymous with what Selby Rugby Club is all about.

More details to follow……
