Message from Steve Cruise, Director of Rugby

On visiting the Club last Sunday it was great to see so many using the grounds and facilities that Selby RUFC prides itself on. A truly buzzing youth section and one that we should all be proud of.

As the kids move through the youth section and pick up the skills they need to play rugby, they also learn other behaviours inherent of rugby players that have gone before them and unfortunately some of these standards seem to have gone astray recently. I would be grateful if you could pass these on and encourage your children to observe some basic housekeeping.

If using the changing rooms, please ensure any rubbish is placed in the bins provided.
Litter should not be dropped or left at the side of pitches for someone else to dispose of.

As at most clubhouses throughout the country, boots should NOT, under any circumstances, be worn in the Clubhouse.

Kit bags should NOT be left on the ground either inside or outside the Clubhouse or in corridors/toilets. Please put them on the racks outside or put them in your car.

After matches, teams from the u14s and above should shower and change into club kit - either shirt and tie or club hoodie - before coming into the Clubhouse.

Whilst not always possible for the players in the 7s-13s to get changed after a match, please be mindful of your child being excessively dirty in the Clubhouse and if necessary have a change of clothes available.

Thank you for your help in passing this message on and keeping our Clubhouse and facilities tidy. You should also follow our guidelines when visiting other Clubhouses on away fixtures.

Yours in rugby
Steve Cruise
